minutes of Meeting - June 1st
attendance: Kathleen, Courtney, Liz, Carmel, Lisa , Victoria, Dianna
old business: we discussed the opening of the bank account for Heartworks of Vermont and the BBT event and thank you's that needed to go out - we wrote out 5 during the meeting to be delivered this week.
thanks to Salley G. for the caring coins , they made great necklaces and kids have been wearing them, talking about it! we have lots more for next event
we have to do a follow-up in the Newspapers from our BBT event to thank people. anyone interested in that let me know
New Opportunities: we are sending a $250 check to Kelly Y , local woman in need, to get her car registration/ insurance. ( she walks everywhere, cleans, and could use the support) we got her name from her neighbor who came to the BBT event.
we discussed what we could do for Maria F. and determined that we need more specifics as to what we best help the Dad, kids etc. at this time. we are awaiting more info from Lesley and/ or Melissa. Kathleen was looking into how Ellen got the food calender going for Hope. We want to be a support we just have to find the best way.
we also decided to send a $25 check to the You are Never Alone foundation to help support them ( that is Salley Gibney's Caring coins )
we also talked about eventually having a better Website ( if anyone can help with that or knows of anyone , now we use www.vtheartworks.blogspot.com
we determined that a consistent day / time is the best way to have meetings and we will resume in August with a big BBQ - hoping to get families etc. In August we will have a meeting August 11th - and the place will be determined....
we decided on 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 6pm ( and we will begin to have social appetizers / drinks for 1/2 hour and meetings will run 45 minutes of so)
